I am a Professor of Biomedical Engineering and serve as the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs fur Rutgers University–New Brunswick.

Our laboratory resides in the Biomedical Engineering Building on the Busch Campus of Rutgers in Piscataway, NJ. We promote an interdisciplinary and collaborative culture with students joining the lab from a variety of disciplines spanning engineering and the life and physical sciences.

Our current research foci include biomaterial, tissue, and cellular engineering approaches for regenerative medicine; the multi-scale analysis of CNS injury mechanics; a biophysical analysis of traditional acupuncture; and the development of technology for drug and gene delivery that is grounded in engineering fundamentals.

Above all, we aim to find the identify and find the answers to interesting scientific questions and to train the next generation of leaders in the scientific community to do the same.
